For such a small population and small town atmosphere, Lewis County Washington has it’s fair share of famous people. Athletes, musicians, politicians, oh my! In this article, we’ll cover three of the most recent famous people to call Lewis County home.
Lewis County, WA Celebrities
As one famous magician once said, “Celebrity is as celebrity does”. While none of these people have instantly recognizable names, they all have reached “can I get your autograph” status. While our area has been blessed with household names before, such as Detlef Schrempf, I’ve restricted this list to people who were born in Lewis County, whether or not they still consider it home.
A Professional Baseball Player
Lyle Overbay is from Centralia, WA. He played Major League Baseball from 2001-2014 after being drafted in 1999 by the Arizona Diamondbacks. Pretty incredible to be that talented at a game you love to make millions of dollars per year doing it!

Brandy Clark is from Morton, WA. Her most famous song might be “Stripes” but her initial claim to fame is writing for other household names like Miranda Lambert and Kacey Musgraves. After multiple grammy nominations for her work, she is not finished making a name for herself.

An Actor & Founding Member in a Well-Known Grunge Band
No, not that one. Although Kurt Cobain and Roger Osborn did work together. Roger “buzz” is also from Morton, WA. Must be something in the water? In fact, Buzz, is the one who introduced Dave Grohl to Cobain, who later founded his own band, Foo Fighters. Back to Buzz, he is the founder of the grunge band, the Melvins. Perhaps you’ve heard of them?
