You’d be hard pressed to find a more beautiful setting for small town living than Morton, WA. Set in the foothills of the Cascade Mountains, the town is surrounded by lakes, rivers, forests, and towering hills encompassing every view.
Morton is mostly sustained by its connection to Tacoma via Hwy 7 and Chehalis (West) and Yakima (East) along Hwy 12. The Hwy 7 connection to Tacoma was essential during the early history as it made access to sea ports much easier for the logging and mercury industries. Further, these convenient routes make it easy for out of towners to flock to the area for outdoor recreation which is mainly what Morton is known for today.
There is a ton more to Morton, get it? Not only a hospital, country market, but also, the #1 Ford Dealer west of the Mississippi, or so I’ve heard. You would not expect that in a town of less than 1200 people. Don’t forget about the Morton Logger’s Jubilee!
